When travelling forward and backward only slight movement of the head is necessary to have a good view of the travel area. In contrast to the front seat the side-seat arrangement results in lower physical strain when working in narrow aisles or with a high proportion of manoeuvring operations. The side seat is implemented e.g. in reach trucks, high-rise lift trucks as well as in pallet trucks.
