Forklift trucks with IC engines are required to limit noise pollution by emitting no more than 90 dB(A). The rule applies to electric vehicles as well, although they normally produce less then the legal limit. The noise restriction applies to the environment as well as at the operators compartment. Noise within the operators compartment is measured at the drivers ear and may not exceed 90 dB(A).
